Azrek’s Dublin Tips!
Dublin is fun, my favorite city, but there are some basic things to consider.
Everything opens at 9 and closes at 4 or 5pm. Takes about 20 minutes to walk to every location. Plan accordinly.
Goto the Cathedrials. But go before 2pm. The catacombs close at Christ Church by then.
Goto St Michans. They have mummies from the Crusades in the crypts.
Goto Guinness. Don’t pour your own, let them pour it. Drink it from the source.
Don’t goto Jameson. It isn’t an active distillery. It is too expensive.
Goto Teeling Distillery. It is short, fun and you get whiskey at the end.
Goto Grogan’s Castle Pub. It is a local pub. Where locals drink. No tvs, terrible art on the walls, and cheese toasties for food.
Drink Beamish too.
Look for the free museums. The history museum is free.
Stephen’s Green is nice to relax
Eat at the Bull and Castle. Great food.

These are all good tips. If you’re down by Grafton St / Stephens Green, I’ll also recommend Kehoes. If you want a few tastes of some spirits, try the Dingle Whiskey Bar near Trinity College, which is also a cool (and free) place to walk around.

I was just in Grogans a few weeks ago, I was staying around the corner.
I think the Guinness tour includes pouring your own now, or maybe not. I know I got two pints (one poured myself) as well as quite a few ‘tastes’ in the taste/smell room. It was slow that day, and they were generous!

Neat! Well if you’re looking to bring back some whiskey, I highly recommend getting something that is Single Pot. We get Green Spot, Yellow Spot, Middleton, Red Breast, Powers here in the US but maybe you’ll find something they don’t ship here.
